The Vatican Library Will be Digitized !

The Vatican and NTT Data are taking on a massive project that will revolutionize how knowledge is conveyed and shared for future generations to come. NTT data has implemented their unique technology to digitize the priceless collection of knowledge that the Vatican Library holds to be accessible from anywhere in the world.

The Vatican Library is one of the largest and most important collections of historic works of writing, manuscripts and artwork in the world. It has been one of the most important priorities of the Catholic Church to preserve knowledge for future generations to come, and for over a 1000 years, that’s just what they have been enduring to do.

The Vatican Library isn’t just open for anyone to go explore though, as the works they guard are very old and those permitted to handle the books have gone through extensive training.

So, in an attempt to have the one-of-a-kind collection be available for the masses, the Vatican has decided to partner with NTT Data, a digital solutions provider that has begun to implement special technology to scan the delicate works and make them available for high-definition viewing online.

You can check out the following video which shows the process NTT Data employs as well as some rare glimpses inside of the Vatican library. Also, don’t forget to check back soon to see some of the amazing works come to life on your own personal screen!
